Tesla's Innovational Technologies | What else was Nikola Tesla about?
Here are some quotes from Nikola Tesla showing the great depth of his soul and his enquiry into the nature of the universe and humanity's place in it.
However, before we present these quotes, note that a supposed interview done by journalist, John Smith, for the supposed magazine, Immortality, in the spring of 1988 was not real, even though it has flooded the Internet and is presented as fact. Rather, this supposed interview is a poorly translated excerpt from a play, "Tesla: Or Customisation of an Angel" (meaning, "customisation of Tesla") by Stevan Pešić, a Serbian playwright.
Suffice to say, none of the supposed quotes from this fictional piece are real quotes from Tesla himself. It is the work of a playwright exercising full poetic license.
Here are some real, verified quotes:
"I wanted to light up the whole earth. There is enough electricity to create a second sun. Light would appear around the equator, like a ring around Saturn."
"If there are intelligent inhabitants of Mars or any other planet, it seems to me that we can do something to attract their attention... I have had this scheme under consideration for five or six years."
"We are whirling through endless space, with and inconceivable speed, all around everything is spinning, everything is moving, everywhere there is energy. There must be some way of availing ourselves of this energy more directly. Then, with the light obtained from the medium, with the power derived from it, with every form of energy obtained without effort, from the store forever inexhaustible, humanity will advance with giant strides. The mere contemplation of these magnificent possibilities expand our minds, strengthens our hopes and and fills our hearts with supreme delight."
"Everyone should consider his body as a priceless gift from one whom he loves above all, a marvellous work of art, of indescribable beauty, and mystery beyond human conception, and so delicate that a word, a breath, a look, nay, a thought may injure it."
"Today's scientists have substituted mathematics for experiments, and they wander off through equation after equation, and eventually build a structure which has no relation to reality."
"If you only knew the magnificence of the 3, 6 and 9, then you would have the key to the universe."
"The gift of mental power comes from God, Divine Being, and if we concentrate our minds on that truth, we become in tune with this great power."
"When wireless is perfectly applied the whole earth will be converted into a huge brain, which in fact it is, all things being particles of a real and rhythmic whole. We shall be able to communicate with one another instantly, irrespective of distance. Not only this, but through television and telephony we shall see and hear one another as perfectly as though we were face to face, despite intervening distances of thousands of miles; and the instruments through which we shall be able to do this will be amazingly simple compared with our present telephone. A man will be able to carry one in his vest pocket."
"Our senses enable us to perceive only a minute portion of the outside world."
"Though free to think and act, we are held together, like the stars in the firmament, with ties inseparable. These ties cannot be seen, but we can feel them."
"Most certainly, some planets are not inhabited, but others are, and among these there must exist life under all conditions and phases of development."
"So astounding are the facts in this connection, that it would seem as though the Creator, himself had electrically designed this planet..."

Tesla and the Swami
Nikola Tesla used ancient Sanskrit terminology in his descriptions of natural phenomena. As early as 1891, Tesla described the universe as a kinetic system filled with energy, which could be harnessed at any location. His concepts during the following years were greatly influenced by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
Swami Vivekananda was the first of a succession of eastern yogi's who brought Vedic philosophy and religion to the west. After meeting the Swami and after continued study of the Eastern view of the mechanisms driving the material world, Tesla began using the Sanskrit words Akasha, Prana, and the concept of a luminiferous ether to describe the source, existence and construction of matter. (Courtesy of Toby Grotz, 1997)
"There manifests itself in the fully developed being , Man, a desire mysterious, inscrutable and irresistible: to imitate nature, to create, to work himself the wonders he perceives...
"Long ago he recognized that all perceptible matter comes from a primary substance, or tenuity beyond conception, filling all space, the Akasha or luminiferous ether, which is acted upon by the life giving Prana or creative force, calling into existence, in never ending cycles all things and phenomena. The primary substance, thrown into infinitesimal whirls of prodigious velocity, becomes gross matter; the force subsiding, the motion ceases and matter disappears, reverting to the primary substance."
So, we can see from these short quotes and commentaries that Tesla was more than just an "electrician"! He understood that there exists in the universe a source of primal energy/consciousness that permeates and gives rise to everything in existence. His technologies were aimed at tapping into this infinite energy/consciousness source for the betterment of humanity, physically and spiritually.
